This frisbee seems to fly better and to be easier to handle than others I've played with. Not only does this frisbee seem to want to stay in the air longer, but it flies further than others of the same weight.
From what I can tell, the thicker outer band traps more air, which in turn creates better hang time. The top material is thinner and more of the weight and thickness is distributed on the outer edges of the frisbee. This seems to translate into more rotational power into the snap of your throw, which means longer throws and a more even flight path. Long, powerful reverse finger-flicker throws become easier to perform with great consistency. People with bigger hands, like myself, find it easier to throw.
Unfortunately, ultimate players will often cling to the traditional frisbee design, one with a more even weight distribution, because that is what they have always played with, but the bottom line is that this frisbee has a superior design. Once you play with this one for a few hours you won't want to go back anything else, that is, if you are willing to let go of your bias and just compare the two designs objectively.
