5 out of 5 stars Smaller storage, but a very good Camelbak!   September 5, 2010

Picked this up for my son (10 yrs old). Was a great purchase and just the right size for him when we ride. Definitely recommended.

Very good product as expected. The only complaint I have is that the mouth piece cracked after about six uses and needs to be replaced.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome product   August 1, 2010

I'm a triathlete, currently training for a century (100 mile bike race). Initially, water bottles in cages on my bike were good enough, but on longer rides, they just don't provide enough water. And I hate running while holding a water bottle or running in loops so I can pick up a bottle and then put it back down, so I often end up under-hydrated on my runs.

So a hydration pack was a must. I've heard so many good things about Camelbak over the years, but had thought that I would be really bothered by the weight and bouncing around on my back while I rode or ran.

Not so. In fact, I actually forget it is there most of the time.

Pros:
- 70 oz of water is the perfect compromise. I typically drink it all during a 50+ mile ride but am not left wanting more at the end.
- The straps are super adjustable and with proper placement, means the pack doesn't bounce at all while you run or ride
- Easy to clean - simply use your kitchen sink sprayer to thoroughly rinse out the pack, wipe the mouthpiece with a sanitizing wipe and then rinse well, then hang upside down to dry.
- Pockets! I can stash GUs, keys, cash, and a spare tube with space to spare.

Cons:
- The drinking tube sticking out the side can get caught on things as you run (assuming you run close to other objects) if you don't keep it pulled in tight. It's not too hard to fix, just requires a little maneuvering. But a few strategically placed clips would have helped keep it connected to the pack.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this product.

5 out of 5 stars Great for yard work   July 25, 2010
Dennis Baldwin (Bristol, CT United States)
I bought this product, my first use of a hydration pack, after losing 3 weeks of yard work due to a severe charley horse. I failed to drink enough water while working on our large property during a hot summer day.

During my recovery, I researched options for carrying water on my back while working outside. The reviews for this product seemed promising. My personal experience of the first two weeks of using this product confirmed what I read.

I'm quite pleased with not only the good taste of the water but that it stays cool while I'm working under the hot summer sun.

When I can escape from yard work, I'll definitely be using it for jogging and hiking as well.

5 out of 5 stars Thirsty???????   July 21, 2010

I got this as a Christmas gift for my brother in law, he is a landscaper and is constantly out in the heat and harsh conditions. He uses it everyday and loves that he doesn't have to carry around a gallon jug everywhere he goes. I would like to get one fro myself as well but find that I am not active enough to get the uses out if it. But its a cool product and a great idea. Even if you are just going to the amusement park in the summer its a great thing to have.
